Keeping Ourselves Safe!
We had the privilege of having Constable T in to teach us for our unit - Keeping Ourselves Safe.
We had two lessons - Safely home and Mark makes a good call.
We had two lessons - Safely home and Mark makes a good call.
Each student took home a Safely Home guide booklet to discuss with their parents and caregivers the twelve safe practices. These are an excellent start for establishing family discussions and rules to have in place to ensure each child is aware of their safety no matter where they may be or doing. Please make time to sit down with your children to talk through with them about the twelve safety practices.

Keep Warm!
The change of weather has unfortunately caught up with Miss Ly and she has caught the nasty flu...

But while she was tucked up in bed with a box of tissues and hot lemon tea... Room 9 had the pleasure to have Ms Ann Russell for the day!
Ann Russell is an author from the West Coast of Auckland. She writes must-read family stories for all animal lovers from 4 years to 108!
Room 9 would like to thank Ann for her fun day full of learning and hopes she comes back to Glen Taylor School soon.
Thank you Ann Russell! Much love from Room 9💛
Reminder - KEEP DRY and WARM! It's not cool being sick!

Hello Term Two!
Term Two!

Term Two already?! We hope everyone has had a well rested break and ready for another hard-working term ahead of us!
We started the term off going through our GTS & PB4L Values and had discussions on how we can be the BEST versions of ourselves!
We discovered WordClouds.com and created brilliant word clouds about our school holidays. Have a look at our work here!

School Kit - Get New Zealand Writing!
Room 9 was super excited to take part in the School Kit - Get NZ Writing!
We brainstormed what a metaphor was and and gave examples of if Room 9 were were a vehicle, a building, something we would find in our community, a meal and a clothing item - what would we be? From this, we drafted metaphors, produced and designed 32 beautiful and eye catching postcards!
We then completed the numeracy parts of the “We Are”
Found Poem Sheet and wrote in our skills, total kids, interesting facts about our school and community etc.
We were surprised of how many of us COULDN'T lick our elbows! But we had tried our best and had a few roaring laughs!
